2.1 Information You Provide Directly
Birth Chart Data: When you use our Janam Kundli, Gun Milan, or Horoscope tools, you provide your (or another person's, with their consent) full name, date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. This data is used solely to generate astrological calculations and is processed as described in Section 3 below.
Contact Information: When you fill out our contact form or newsletter signup, we collect your name and email address, and any message content you choose to submit.
Consultation Inquiries: If you reach out to book a personal consultation, we collect the information necessary to schedule and conduct that consultation, such as your name, contact details, and any background information you choose to share regarding the purpose of your consultation.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through standard web technologies, including:
— IP address and approximate geographic location

— Device type and operating system
— Pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring/exit URLs
— Date and time of access

2.3 Location Data for Astrological Calculations
To accurately calculate planetary positions, our birth chart tools require precise geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) for the birth place you enter. When you type a location into our place-search fields, that query is sent to third-party mapping and geocoding services to resolve it into coordinates and a timezone. See Section 5 (Third-Party Services) for details on which providers are used and what data is shared with them.
2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and analyze traffic. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; however, doing so may affect the functionality of certain features on the Site.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
(a) To generate the astrological calculations, charts, compatibility reports, and horoscope content you request;
(b) To respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form;
(c) To send newsletter communications to subscribers who have opted in, including planetary forecasts and Site updates;

4. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR INFORMATION
Birth Chart Data: Information submitted to generate a Kundli, Gun Milan report, or Horoscope reading is processed in real time to produce your result. We do not retain birth chart data on our servers beyond what is operationally necessary to deliver the result to you, unless you have created an account and elected to save your chart for future reference.
Contact and Newsletter Data: Information submitted via our contact form or newsletter signup is retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry or for as long as you remain subscribed. You may request deletion of this information at any time (see Section 8).
Consultation Records: Information related to booked consultations is retained for a reasonable period following the consultation for record-keeping and continuity of service, unless you request earlier deletion.
To operate certain features of the Site, we rely on the following third-party service providers. Each operates under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them:
5.1 Mapping and Geolocation Services
Google Maps Platform (Places API): Used to provide city/location autocomplete suggestions when you enter a birth place. Google may process your search query and general location in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
OpenStreetMap Nominatim: Used as a fallback geocoding service if Google Maps is unavailable. Location queries entered into our search fields may be sent to Nominatim's public API in accordance with its usage policy.
5.2 Timezone Resolution Services
timeapi.io and BigDataCloud: Used to determine the correct timezone for a given latitude and longitude, which is required for accurate astrological calculations. These services receive only geographic coordinates, not your name or other personal details.
5.3 Astrological Calculation Engine
Birth date, time, and location data you submit is transmitted securely to our backend astrological calculation API to compute planetary positions, Dasha periods, Panchang details, and compatibility scores. This data is used solely to generate your requested result and is not used by us for any unrelated purpose.
5.4 Website Hosting and Forms
Our Site is hosted on infrastructure provided by our hosting provider, and our contact and newsletter forms are powered by Contact Form 7, a WordPress plugin that processes form submissions through our own mail server. We do not use any third-party form-processing or payment-processing service, as the Site does not currently process online payments (see Section 6).
We may use website analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand aggregate visitor behavior. These tools may set their own cookies and collect data in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
6. NO ONLINE PAYMENT PROCESSING
The Site does not operate as an e-commerce platform and does not collect, process, or store any payment card information, billing addresses, or financial account details. All astrological tools on the Site are provided free of charge. Any fees associated with personal consultations are discussed and arranged directly with you outside of the Site, and any payment for such consultations is handled through means agreed upon between you and AstroShastri, not through this Site.
7. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes the use of secure (HTTPS) connections for data transmission and restricted access to backend systems handling birth chart calculations.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
8. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
